Are you stuck in a tea rut? Do you love to add a little spice and sassiness to your life? I do!!
I think that Village Tea Company is a refreshing break from the stuffiness that some people are used to when they think of tea. Sure the name of the company doesn’t sound that spicy, but they are! At Village Tea Comany they think, “Tea doesn’t have to be traditional to be fun. Village Tea gives you unexpected combinations of flavor that are good for you in earth friendly packaging that you can enjoy. Who says you have to drink the same tea like your grandmother? Loose leaf tea gives you not only the best bang for your buck but also provides a greater health benefit than a regular bagged tea. Overall: To reap the greatest benefit – enjoy what you are drinking…..that’s part of the whole experience. Look for great blends where the below are leading or major ingredients….you’ll enjoy it more. Worst case, blend it into a cocktail.

Mobile Teapot & Tea Giveaway
I seem to have developed a fondness for tea. Don’t get me wrong – I still like my coffee (black), but tea comes in so many amazing flavors and doesn’t keep me up at night :) Tea used to be my hot drink of choice when I had a cold, but now I seem to be having a cup, or two, every evening.

Village Tea Company sent me this wonderful package to try, tell you about and they even offered to do a give away. The package included a Mobile Teapot and 5 different teas to try.

The larger container is Sweet Grace Vanilla. It includes to bags of loose tea and 10 – 100% natural paper filters so I can make my own tea bags. The smaller teaser packs are Cherry Me Bloom, Organic Lemon Ginger Green Tea,Sassy Green Tea, and Simply Earl Grey. Each teaser is packed in 100% recycled and recyclable packaging!! LOVE the Cherry one!! The other teas have wonderful flavors also, but for some reason the Cherry is my favorite :) I really need to convince my husband to try the lemon ginger one – it would be great for his cold.
The Mobile Teapot is amazing! You place your loose tea in the pot, add boiling water (about 1.5 cups) and let it sit for 5 minutes or so. It has a wonderful reusable filter so you don’t get the tea leaves when you drink, though they do seem to mostly settle to the bottom in about 5 minutes time. The container is plastic, but even after adding the boiling water and waiting, it’s not hot just nice and warm. I was a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to hold the pot, but was quite surprised how it holds the heat in, but the container stays a nice temperature. Every evening I have to go play with the dogs in our boarding kennel and have started taking the teapot with me :) It’s a great way to stay warm on a cool evening outside.

If you are a tea drinker and like to take it with you – I would highly recommend getting the Mobile Teapot, and also the tea from Village Tea Company.

Village Tea Company Review
I just love herb teas! And Rooibos Tea’s are a type of herb tea. I was excited when I contacted Village Tea Company and they let me pick 2 teas for a review. That was when I did a little research and found that Rooibos tea is not even made with tea leaves. I was excited about that!

Village Tea Company has a large selection of teas to choose from and they come in these nice little canisters! The tea comes as loose tea in a bag and then you just put it into the little tea packets.

Sweet Grace Vanilla Rooibos Tea is a really nice flavorful fruity blend. I shared this with with Jennie when I was visiting and she loved it! I like to add a little spenda and milk to my teas.
Cherry Me Blossom Rooibos Tea with Acai~ Jennie and I both loved this one, and it’s my favorite of the two! How many cups of tea are to many in a day?

Be sure and check out all the great flavors of tea they have at Village Tea Company. Fall is in the air and it’s just the right time to sip some nice warm tea!

You can connect with Village Tea Company on these social media’s, Twitter and Facebook.

UNSIGNED THE MAGAZINE: Loves I Heart Boba

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

We had the pleasure of being invited to the opening of I Heart Boba by the Fashionistas. It’s a wonderful spot that I can picture using for a casual “meet me” or “lets talk” here type of place.
Next Food Network Star Lisa Garza was on hand to help kick things off in this swanky lil place decorated style of a private village getaway.

I Heart Boba, featuring over 100 different flavors of Boba tea flavors and combinations, is located at 11661 Preston Rd. Suite 210 – next to CVS and Sunstone Yoga.
Boba tea, a traditional Taiwanese style tea drink with fresh tapioca pieces at the bottom of the drink, has been modernized to include coffee, smoothies, slushies, juices and flavored jellies all customizable to your taste.
“I’m really excited about the design. We want this to be a nice and comfortable place to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere and beverages,” said Martin Ekechukwu, CEO Village Tea Company LLC.
Thanks again to The Fashionistas, Hamilton Sneed of HAS Events and Mr. Martin Ekechukwu for the invite.

SororiTEA’s Review Village Tea – Simply Earl Grey

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Taster’s Review:

I am sure you’ve heard me declare this before, but, I love Earl Grey tea. There is justsomething about the bergamot orange that makes it just seem to be made for flavoring the tea leaf.

This is an excellent variety of Earl Grey from the Village Tea Company. Having not tried any of their teas before, I must say that I was rather excited to receive one of their nifty little “teaser” packages – a small cardboard cylinder “tin” that is just about the same size as a lipstick tube.

This packaging is quite impressive – I mean, really, how clever! This little tube fits comfortably in a pocket, purse or briefcase, giving a whole new level of portability to tea time! This is something that can easily be stashed in the desk drawer at work, or into a suitcase so that you can travel with your favorite teas rather than having to settle for the lackluster hotel “courtesy” teabags. All this convenience, the tea stays fresh and dry… and these portable tubes are eco-friendly! What more can you ask from tea containment?

Here’s more about the teaser packaging from The Village Tea Company’s website:

Travel Sized Tea to Go!

Our Simply Early Grey Teaser is our best blend of Indian black teas with bergamot orange essence packaged for a convenient sampling experience or for Village Tea on-the-go.

My gushing over the cool packaging of the Village Tea Company’s teasers aside, I am really enjoying this cup of Simply Earl Grey! The bergamot flavor here is a bit lighter than many Earl Grey teas that I’ve encountered – and although I really like a strong bergamot aroma and flavor – I must admit that there is a very pleasing balance between tea flavor and bergamot taste here.

The black tea base is mellow and smooth – I certainly wouldn’t categorize it as robust. This is not a tea that I would consider a breakfast or morning tea because it doesn’t have that verve that I look for in a morning tea. However, this IS a truly excellent afternoon tea and would make a perfect choice to serve to guests. There is no bitterness to the black tea and only a light astringency to it. It is just … rather simply … a delicious, medium-bodied black tea base.

The bergamot follows suit by being a softer, smoother bergamot. This is not the perfume-y tasting Earl Grey that you might remember when drinking tea at your great-aunt’s house when you were younger. It has a deliciously juicy, citrus taste to it with hints of the signature “floral” taste that I so often attribute to Earl Grey teas. But – please note – that these are only hints of those floral notes. The bergamot here is very light and refreshing.

This really is “Simply” Earl Grey… and, simply delicious.

Coffee or Tea?

Both for me!! LOL!

I love coffee and I love tea, so trying out Village Tea Company was the perfect excuse to get ‘tea wasted’ for awhile.:)

The good people over at Village Tea Company, sent me an awesome package that included a full size of Sweet Grace Vanilla Rooibos, “Village Teasers” of Simply Earl Grey, Cherry Me Bloom Rooibos, Gentle Organic Lemon Ginger Green Tea, and Sassy Green Tea with Acai. Also include was the Mobile Teapot.

My favorite out of the teas was Sweet Grace Vanilla Rooibos, a fragrant bit of heaven. The vanilla is perfect with the rooibos and perfect for any time of day. I added a bit of cream and sugar and it was divine. The full size teas come with 50 filter bags to craft you own tea bag. Perfect when I want my drink to be bit ‘heavy’. The mobile teapot is fantastic for on the go. I haven’t quite got the the loose tea and filter part right, though. I think I suppose to heat the water, put the loose tea in and then strain it through, I think. Its safe to say, I’m not Go-Go-Gadget Jamie! lol!

SororiTEA Sisters Review Strawberry Passion White Tea

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Tasters Review:

I’ve had great luck with the offerings from Village Tea Company and here is another one. It’s called Strawberry Passion and it’s a White Tea and it’s darling!

This is a gentle yet flavorful strawberry flavored white tea. It’s very good both hot and cold. It’s smooth but fruity and fun and thankfully NOT sour or tarty or puckery. The perfect flavored white tea to escape from everyday hustle and bustle.

Evoluchun’s Blog Reviews Village Tea Mobile Travel Mug

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

I received the Mobile teapot and a lemon ginger green tea from Village Tea Company to review. Ya’ll may remember I worked with them awhile back and my mom still loves her tea from them just as much. Thanks to this company from the beginning is the reason my mom tried herbal teas like green tea and some of the others, which is way more healthier and she needs it anyways. She had a teapot for the house but she is on the go alot when she goes down and spends time and sees if she can help out the landlord during the weekends so this mobile teapot really came in handy. Ma said its so simple to use just put your tea in the bottom part add water let it sit while she gets ready feeds the animals and all that good stuff so by the time she leaves its perfect so she takes it with her and through out the day instead of drinking sugary sodas, or black or orange tea which is loaded with caffeine and all she pulls out her organic tea in the mobile teapot pours herself a glass and it sifts right through so no tea leaves in her glass. This was a great idea my mom said because she remembers when you had to fish your tea leaves out of your tea just to drink it where with this you get the great flavor with no leaves or mess to cleanup. My mom said the tea she received was ok but she liked some of the other teas she still has from before from this company better, and plans to buy more in the future when she needs it from Village Tea Company, I definitely recommend this company.

Sugar Pop Robbins Review and Giveaway of Village Tea Company

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

One of the things my bff Jessica and I love to do when we get together is tea drinking (it is actually considered an art and a common activity in Taiwan). We love trying new teas together (either at tea houses or at our homes). As such, when I received my package of teas from Village Tea Company, I had to try them with her.

Jessica is teaching Chinese at the local college, but she has more free time than the normal school year, so we have been able to get together to try tea more often too :) . We were able to try Smooth Jasmine tea, Ginger Orange and Ginseng tea and Cherry Me Bloom tea.
