Did You Know that January is National Tea Month? Spa Week Daily, Did!

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

I originally started out this blog post with: “January should be National Tea Month. I declare it!” After Googling to make sure there was no conflict, it turns out January IS National Hot Tea Month. Glad to know I’m onto something here– as the world turns over a new leaf, it turns over a new tea leaf too.

One of the teas we’re enjoying over here at SPA WEEK® is the Gentle Organic Lemon Ginger Green Tea by Villiage Tea Company. Kaitlin, Dina and I first tried the flavor in December (The National Month-Before National Hot Tea Month). We took turns with the muslin tea pouch, steeping personal portions in our little office microwave. It was as delightful as a frigid Tuesday morning gets.

Tea is the 2nd most consumed beverage in the world (to water), and the human race is healthier for it. Tea is not only served in spas, but also used in many treatments that capitalize on its greatness. We encourage you to make tea a regular part of your diet in 2010! Village Tea Co. shares all ingredients and health benefits on their website. Some are…

Today I’m making the main dish and dessert for dinner for a family who just recently had a baby. I’m making this yummy dish called Za’atar Chicken which has to cook for 6 hours in a croc pot so it’s not a lot of work on my part but I still have to prep everything and get it cooking by 10 am so it will be ready for me to deliver around 4:30 today.

Earlier in the week, I delivered the coats and a few extra things (several sweaters, shoes, blankets, etc.) to a women’s shelter in Dallas. The area where I had to deliver the items was a bit out of my comfort zone and I was worried about driving there but once I arrived, there was a man waiting outside to accept donations. Zoe had fallen asleep in the car so all I had to do was get out, hand the man my items and drive off. It felt good. I’m grateful and hopeful that the warm coats and other items will find a good home.

On Tuesday, a friend and I took our daughters to a new place called Village Tea Company for a story time. The lady who works behind the
