Alison from the Advice Sisters Guide to Life reports on her informative ( and fun!) session at the SURREY hotel’s Tea Party, sponsored by Village Tea Co. and Spa Week Daily.
Twitter is actually good for something. A couple of months ago I received a “tweet” from a rep with Village Tea Company to review one of their wares. This was the first time such a thing had ever happened. Most of my updates on Twitter ranged from teas I tried, food I scarfed, jokes I heard, Youtube clips that made me giggle, and random quotes from people I knew; particularly my mother (she’s unintentionally hilarious). How anyone gleaned that I reviewed teas from that miasma of pointless text is beyond me, but I was grateful they did.
The rep put me in touch with Village Tea Company via e-mail, and they got back to me promptly. What I found quite remarkable is the way they said, “Pick the ones you want to try.” Not being greedy, I settled on five options – the top pick being a strawberry white tea. I received a reply stating it was on its way. I thought they meant 2-tsp. samples.
About a week later, the delivery came – almost an entire 2-oz. canister of their Strawberry Passion White Tea. Okay, on first glance, a couple of ounces doesn’t sound like much, but keep in mind, only 2 teaspoons of leaf is need for 12-16-oz. cups of tea. Do the math.

Sassy Green Tea
You’ve heard it before, drinking green tea will boost your metabolism, stock your body with antioxidants and ultimately, could even help you lose weight. But did you know that recent studies showed that green tea also seems to protect the liver from the damaging effects of toxic substances such as… alcohol? Damn right. Whether or not you’re still taking it easy on late night dinners and partying as we’re entering the second half of January, it’s only logical to start including more antioxidant in your diet. It’s hardly a chore when the source is as yummy as this Sassy Green Tea with açai berries from Village Tea Co.
About The Loot:
What do Beyonce and Taylor Swift have in common? It’s not just Kanye West’s wild antics– it turns out the two charming chanteuses share similar tastes as well. Both are reported by Life&Style to be big fans of Village Tea Company’s loose-leaf tea, which you can bag for a bargain exclusively on today’s Loot.
The stars don’t just sip the luxurious imported blends. As reported by In Touch Weekly, Village Tea Company’s “ultra-potent antioxidant teas have quickly become a celebrity favorite not just to drink, but as a topical skincare solution! Village Tea Co.’s ‘Sassy Green Tea with Acai’ is loaded with antioxidants from both the specially harvested loose green tea leaves and Brazilian Acai. Stars including Taylor Swift, Khloe Kardashian, Fergie and Cameron Diaz have all been enjoying the ‘Super Skin Cocktail’ formulated by the master brewers at Village Tea Co. The anti-oxidants and small dose of caffeine perks skin up, brightens tone, helps correct discoloration and promotes new cellular regeneration. Best of all, it smells delicious, is an eco-friendly way to prevent the signs of aging, saves money and is completely natural!”
You’ll get five full-sized canisters of Village Tea’s five best selling flavors, including the Sassy Green of course, each packed with 3 cotton muslin bags for brewing. With approximately 40 servings in each canister, that’s a total of 200 cups of tea for $39, or a little less than 20 cents a cup!
Now a little about the stars of this set as described by the brewers themselves:
Sassy Green Tea with Acai:
Our choice Chinese green tea is complemented by the fruit tones of peach and orange as well as carefully selected chilies. We then go the extra mile by adding the Amazonian acai superfruit, enhancing the tea with an additional sweetness.
Grace Vanilla Rooibos Tea:
There’s an incredible simplicity in our Sweet Grace Vanilla Rooibos Tea. The soothing flavor of vanilla and the naturally sweet and mildly nutty palate of rooibos tea come together in a soothing mellow flavor.
Strawberry Passion White Tea:
Rich and intense, this white tea marries full leaf-and-bud Chinese Bai Mu Dan (white tea) with flavorful and fragrant strawberries to enhance the naturally mild sweetness of white tea.
Royal English Breakfast Black Tea:
Taking a cue from its origins in the highlands of Sri Lanka, our Royal English Tea gives you a healthy start to your day with less than half the caffeine found in coffee and a full, rich body of flavor.
Classic Organic White Tea:
An example of beautiful simplicity, organic Chinese white tea (bai mu dan) is the ingredient of choice for our Classic Organic White Tea.
So whether you want to soothe your voice before a sold out concert, lay the tea bags on your lids like the celebs, warm up for winter, or just sip something scrumptious; grab this Loot now before this tea party’s over.

“They have little tea bags inside that you can put the loose leaf tea in to make your own tea bag. This was really impressive. What was even more impressive was the flavor of this tea.”
